About the Alliance Educational Fund

The Alliance for Retired Americans Educational Fund educates the public about issues that affect retirees; generates senior grassroots involvement in public policy issues; and develops materials that convey the issues in clear and compelling ways.

• Education
  The Fund conducts outreach to retired workers and pre-retirees on a variety of issues, with a focus on health care and retirement security. Specific materials will be developed for use in its educational efforts, including online resources, presentations and publications which educate older and retired Americans on issues of concern.

• Outreach
  Our efforts focus on health care and retirement security including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the Older Americans Act, as well as the rising cost of prescription drugs. We study and evaluate current legislative and regulatory initiatives in the United States on these issues, as well as practices drawn from other countries and recommendations from experts and scholars in the field.

• Conduct Coalition Work/Activities
  The Educational Fund actively seeks opportunities for cooperative work and coalition building among not-for-profit organizations, community groups, worker and retiree organizations, and unions that share the goal of a secure retirement for retirees. Our focus is on information exchange, shaping debate, and building support among members of the public, lawmakers, and institutions and individuals who are influential in crafting policy on these issues at the national, state and local levels.
